So Penn & Teller: Fool us! (follow Fool us on twitter for information on upcoming episodes, twitter: @FoolUsTv .And follow penn & Teller @pennjillette @mrteller  ) was amazing. My previous blog was about the pilot episode of Fool us so I dont need to go into detail on the layout of the show or anything.

It was amazing getting tickets to see it be filmed. I dont think id smiled that much for a while.  So what happened?

Well, me and my friend Mary(who I saw the show with) got into London at about 10 to 11ish, which gave us plenty of time to find the studio. It was a good job we got there when we did seeing as we went in a circle about twice trying to find the studio.  We needn’t of rushed though, there was a two hour delay, something happened in one of the magicians rehearsals which held things up. But everyone was in such a good mood they didn’t care(at first anyway).I thought it was nice of Penn to come out and wave during the wait, it really helped people cheer up, The 2hour wait played my knees up but it was worth it!

Once we got into the studio,with our two wristbands, Blue to show we were allowed in, and Red to show we didnt mind being picked for a trick,we sat in our seats(Me and Mary were sat in the second row!).You could tell everyone was exited to see some good magic. I wont go into what we saw happened, But it was a great show, full of laughs and “oohhhh” and “wow how did they do that!” moments. I was so hyper that day, I was in the same studio as Penn & Teller, and Jonathan Ross(and someone else but im not saying who till its aired)

When things were being set up Jonathan Ross(the host if you hadnt of guessed, follow him on twitter @wossy) was funny, and interacted with the audience (if im honest I wasn’t expecting him to be so involved whilst things were being set up) And Penn cracked a few jokes and got us involved in conversations. Teller just laughed a lot and continued his acting silence.

So yeah overall the show was amazing(I even got caught dancing, well I say dancing it was more moving from side to side in time to music which caused me to turn bright red with embarrassment haha!)

I loved the trip so much I scrapbooked about it! I still have pages left though so lets get a second series and lets get shanna money

I hope there’s a second series of Penn & Teller: Fool Us. I need to find a job to fund a visit to London though if there is a second series.

Saturday 25th June- O2 arena London…. GLEE LIVE!

Yes I finally went to Glee Live, part of my 18th birthday present. It was a amazing show. The LXD were the support act, which is a  dance group Harry shum jr (mike in glee)is a part of.They were really good, they used Props and were really talented.

The actual glee show was great, there was the main stage and their was also a smaller square stage in the middle of the arena where a few songs were performed.

I wont go into the list of all the songs but Dont stop believing opened the show and Somebody to love closed it. Kurt(yes I know the actors name is Chris but im using character names for ease) brought a tear to my eye when he sang I wanna hold your hand. And the warblers were amazing! as were the whole glee cast. It was a great atmosphere and everyone you could see really enjoyed the show. I just wish I could go see it again!

Penn and teller

Penn is the one on the left(with glasses) and Teller is on the right. Penn Jillette is the speaker of the two, Born in Greenfield Massachusetts. Penn Jillette (@pennjillette) is not only one half of the magic/comedic act Penn & Teller, He is also a writer, actor, bassist , and has a selection of other different talents. Penn as I’ve previously mentioned does most of the talking when doing the Penn & Teller live show / tv appearances with Teller. One of Penns many talents is juggling, Hes been known to juggle fire and broken glass bottles. He also ‘eats’ fire. Some of Penns acting credits include Sabrina the teenage witch (he played Drell head of the witches council), He also along with Teller has appeared on Home improvement (that tim allen  family comedy from the 90′s ish) as well as many other different appearances on tv shows, as himself and also as made up characters. Penn & Teller have also appeared in various music videos. One of them including waking up in vegas by Katy Perry, If you watch closely you will see Penn & Teller being kicked out of a hotel room.

Penn is also known for having one red fingernail, There are three common answers to why he has a single red fingernail. One of these answers includes that it means he once shot a man for asking personal questions. Another common answer is that when he started out in magic his mother adviced him to keep his hands looking nice as people would be staring at his hands whilst he was doing his tricks, so he painted his nails red as a joke, and the single nail painted is in memory of his mother. And the final answer is that it provides good misdirection.

Penn has revealed that the  real reason for the single red finger nail is beacuse of his mother telling him to keep his hands looking nice, and hes continued to keep painting the single fingernail red ever since in honour of his mother.

Now lets move onto Teller(@MrTeller), Teller is litterally just called Teller, He had his name legally changed to just his last name. Teller was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Teller is the near silent half of the two, he occasionally speaks but very rarely during the Penn & Teller act. Tellers silence as ive previously mentioned stems from when he first started out doing magic, he noticed that if he was silent during his act people would pay more attention to the trick and get bored of heckling hi. When Teller does talk however his mouth is usually coved, either by his hand or a prop. Teller often talks at seminars however.

Teller is also a successful writer and has worked with Penn on a few books, as well as doing his own writing.  As well as his writing and magic Teller has also done some acting(mainly with Penn). He also along with Penn thought of the tv show Bullshit! which is a documentary show investigating common misconceptions and paranormal beliefs.

Terller rarely talks in the act Penn & Teller, This stems from when he was first trying out magic at parties and noticed that if he was silent people concentrated more on the tricks rather then heckling him. Penn & Teller dont only do magic, they are writers and host a variety of tv shows.

Now about the show, A few magicians were fighting for the opportunity to grab a guest spot on Penn & Tellers Las Vegas show! To win this amazing prize Penn and Teller had to be fooled by the magician. The show was hosted by Jonathan Ross (@wossy).

Two of the magicians got through with their tricks,The first to get through was A comedian magician who had a group of envelopes. One envelope had £100 cash! the other envelopes had fake money bills with his face on. each envelope had a different word on and  the magician gave audience members the chance to choose a envelope. None of the audience members found the £100. This trick fooled Penn & Teller, it seriously had them stumped, they examined the envelopes and still could not figure it out.

The second magician to get through did close up card tricks. He had Penn & Teller help him out, and also had them up on the stage(Penn & Teller sat in the audience to watch most acts, unless required on stage). You could clearly see Penn and Teller each watching a hand. To cut a long story short Penn & Teller thought they knew how the trick had been done, but it was confirmed by the adjudicators that Penn & Tellers thoughts were wrong.Neither of them could explain the trick and so  this magician got in.

Also on the show Penn & Teller did a couple of tricks.  Now I admit I had heard of Penn & Teller (from various tv shows when I was younger including Sabrina the teenage witch) and had also seen them do a couple of tricks on old old tv, but seeing as most of my life they haven’t performed in the UK i hadn’t really seen that many of their tricks. But after watching Fool Us on itv1 I have been youtubing Penn & Teller clips. And my oh my are they good! I love the fact that they explain how they’ve done things and I love how they don’t care that some people don’t agree with their methods.

Id love to go and see Penn & Teller live (I know this has nothing to do with the program) but the program just made me want to go even more! A friend said to me that if i ever get married and Penn & Teller are still live in vegas we will go to vegas for a hen week and see them live. Now I just need to find a husband.

Anyway back to the show,The editing was really well done, and all in all I think the show worked really well and I’d love to see more Penn & Teller in the UK! Oh and Jonathan Ross did a good job presenting.

Ok Now onto EastEnders. As many of you may know theres been a conterversial story line recently.to put it simply Ronnie Branning and Kat Moon both had baby boys. Kats little bundle of Joy was called Tommy and Ronnie’s bundle of joy was called James (after Jim, Jacks farther)

All sounds simple and fairly normal right? WRONG! Ronnies baby James sadly died of cot death, And if youve watched eastenders over the past couple of years you will know Ronnie had a baby when she was a teenager, (a girl) and when her daughter was grown up she came looking for Ronnie and admitted Ronnie was her mother, moments before she was killed. So anyway Ronnies baby James dies and she panics, goes to the Vic(the pub) to get help.

She walks upstairs and goes into the Moons bedroom, where she sees a alive Tommy crying in his Moses basket.As Ronnies in a state she swaps the babies, so she ahs the live Tommy and Kat has James.

So to cut a long story short Ronnies suffering grief and guilt and Kat is suffering grief, pushing everyone away. Now it all sounds simple right? well as expected its tv, in the UK which naturally means there will be complaints, however this story line has had a record number of complaints and the story has been cut short and the actress who plays Ronnie is leaving Eastenders, (not to do with the storyline apparently). Some people feel that the story makes all new mothers who loose a baby seem mentally unstable and that the script writers could of handled it better. And other people think its a striking piece of tv which brings real life issues to the attention of the viewers.

I personally feel that the story has been shot well, but I do think the script could of been tweaked a little and the story changed in places. Apart from a few things to do with the script I think it has been shot really well, the cast are doing an amazing job of portraying this real life issue. I dont think it makes all grieving mothers look mentally unstable as if you have watched the show before you will see Ronnie has had a lot to happen to her to make her act this way.

Anyway as part of our college course we were told there was a trip to london. So we went to london on the Wednesday just gone and boy was it jam-packed! Lets start from the beginning shall we?

So first we had to get the coach to london.The coach journey was fun, everyone was in a good mood and the conversation was flowing between the media students.Stopped at services and then off we carried on.

Eventually we got to London, and our first activity was the V&A museum. I kept wanting to call it a art gallery but apparently im wrong.We saw the ‘shadow capture’ i think it was expedition(after a lot of faffing around due to getting there early),After we looked in that bit we had some free time to look around by ourselves. so we looked all around the V&A:) then lunch(yay food) and then the best bit.

We hopped back on the waiting coach and went to the BBC television center!! We got to the BBC, off the coach and waited outside. And guess who walked out! only blimming @jason_manford !!!!(Jason Manford to you non twitter folk) I think bless him Jason was a bit scared as when he walked out nearly ALL the girls(and a couple of boys to) started screaming and ran over to him. So we all took photos and were in shock we saw Jason Manford because well hes amazing! After this excitement we were told our guides were ready so we entered the BBC main reception. After we had met our guides we went to the main bit. We got security checked and then the tour began!

We saw the Tardis, the ashes to ashes car and the prank patrol van all before we got inside! once inside we went up to the news bit of the centre.Went into a room next to the offices for the news and saw live news program being recorded on a screen, After this we made our way up to some studios. We saw the strictly come dancing studio and the Alan Titmarsh studio. We also saw radio being recorded and a dressing room,we went in a mini studio full of old BBC props and played a mini quiz show and then the gift shop(where there was a giant darlek waiting) It was amazing and I will never forget that day.
especially wont forget the look on Jason Manford’s face bless him.

SO yeah that’s bassicly a summary on my london trip Oh and I DIDNT get ill this time!

So ive been busy at college as you all know. but I’m not going to talk about that now.What else has been happening *thinks* I know! I’ve been trying to sleep. that doesn’t count you say? ok well um…….ive made some new friends, and I’ve been soooooooo(overuse of o’s) busy I cant belive it! I have not been this busy in a while.

However I cannot think of anything to blog about!

then on the first day we had to do a ‘lion hunt’ bassicly around town there are a load of lions decorated by schools/businesses/artists and the like. we did have something similar with pigs (which everyone seems to prefer)We were all put into groups of 4 and 5 and we had to take photos of the lions, the most high-tech, best use of texture and um other things I can’t remember.(yeah im good) It was so fun hunting around for the lions because as me and my group were started chatting (as you do) about ourselfs.It was fun, ive forgotten what its like to meet new people and do something you love (photography/hunting for things to take photos of) at the same time.

I remember one time (ok so it was around the time of swine flu but i can assure you I didn’t have it) I sneezed. one woman went to me “KEEP YOUR GERMS OFF THE BUS!” I was quiet offended. I mean I can’t help sneezing.But i can understand why she was upset. Thats not as bad as another time on the bus. A little kid sneezed (this was in summer) and a man stared at him,looked at the kids mum and went “what is it with children and making adults ill!” This made the little kid cry,even when his mum tried to explain to the man  it was hay fever and not an illness. She even got her sons hay fever medication out her bag to prove it!

Now I don’t think anyone should feel the need to do that.In fact that man should have felt ashamed for making the kid cry but he wasnt, also he didn’t belive it was hay fever medication.said she was hiding serious illness eds in a hay fever med box.

Bassicly the message of the blog is…… if someone sneezes or coughs cover your hands in sanitizer, don’t complain.

Now I know that sounds like a exaggeration but its true! if I don’t say hi to some people they think “oh she hates me” and they get their mates involved and it’s just true mayhem. Sometimes I just feel like standing up and screaming at them to shut up!.It doesnt matter how I try to explain that after a while I just don’t feel like making an effort.

Friendship isn’t supposed to be a one way thing……….right?

Whats new?I hear you ask! well not much to be honest, like ive mentioned already I got a distinction in my art course which im very proud of, I worked so hard for that grade doing much more work then some people, and putting much more effort in then some people.

I’ve gone into music obsession mode(again) every day ive been listening to the songs love the way you lie by Eminem and Rhianna. call me by Shinedown and shut up and smile by Bowling for soup. simply because these songs seem to make me think, they really relate to my head mess at the moment.

And another thing is the weather, I know how British to mention the weather but really have you seen it?! it’s so unpredictable. one second its super sunny, next its peeing  it down.I thought it was supposed to be summer! It can’t be one type of weather the whole day can it? noooo its a mix of everything. rain,sun,hot,cold. I think the only thing we havent gotten yet is snow!*fingers crossed it doesn’t come anytime soon*

Moving swiftly on lots of people have revived results/places in uni/college and they’re all really happy! its a great feeling to find out you’ve been accepted to do something you genuinely love!(I know from experience) And for all those people who didn’t get into the uni/college they wanted or the grades they wanted I know how that feels to.but dont worry about it,there are courses where you can retake certain exams, and if you didn’t get into a uni/college you could use this next academic year to either improve grades by retaking a course or using the year to gain life experience, college’s and unis love that and it shows your mature!

Right anyway that’s enough of my rambling, I know I always say this but i will blog again soon, hopefully:P untill next time….
